“The secret of Happiness is Freedom, and the secret of Freedom, Courage.”
Summer officially begins next month, but over the years, Memorial Day Weekend has come to mean that it is time for summer fun to begin. And, after a long winter for many people in the U.S., this three-day weekend comes at just the right time. For many, it means time spent with family and friends, a backyard barbecue, a day at the beach or lake, a picnic in the park—a feeling of coming together.
In December 2000, The “National Moment of Remembrance” resolution was passed, suggesting that Americans stop whatever they are doing at 3 p.m. (local time) to spend a moment honoring the memory of the men and women who have died in service to the United States, as well as their families. My desire is that with Monday being a national holiday in the United States, use this post as a reminder that we all pause, take a breath, and remember the many men and women who have defended our right to freedom—both in word and deed—throughout our country’s history. On this day, we honor you who have served and are serving. We offer gratitude and love for your courage. Big love and thank you!
