Happy New Year sweet friends! Here we are, the beginning of 2016, and have you asked yourself the Big Question: “What do I want from this year?” This may seem like a silly blog; you may be saying, “Of course I know what I want.” But do you really? How often when asked, “What do you want this year” do we hesitate in our answer? If we truly wish for 2016 to be our best we must know what we really, really, really want. Not knowing what we want is a primary source of our suffering and unhappiness. We can’t possibly get what we want, when we don’t know what we want. So we’re actually setting ourselves up for major disappointment, right? Knowing what we desire for ourselves helps us get clear, then we can take steps along the path to getting what we truly want for our lives.
So here’s what to do if you’re just not sure what you want for 2016:
- How often are we asking for things we don’t want?
- Get clear on your intentions to co-create your best life in 2016.
- If you want to go east don’t go west; you come to a place of clarity.
Make your list
What do you want?
Why do I want these? Get deep into your heart.
Once you’ve answered these questions Sit with Yourself.
Listen. Find a quiet spot, sit down, and take a few breaths bringing your attention inside and ask yourself, “What do I really, really, really want for my life this year?” Now listen. Repeat this over and over again- ask the question and listen. In this listening you are accessing the whisperings of your heart; this voice is your deepest desire. Allow your heart to speak without effort. Simply listen. Practice this for about 5 minutes. When finished, take a few breaths, say a prayer of gratitude for your life and then if you wish, write down the inspirations that spoke to you.
When we get clear on our deepest desire this becomes our highest ideal.
Every action we take is against the backdrop of our deep desire.
This is our intention for 2016; we sit every morning to begin the day connected to our desire. We have the power, the discipline, and the faith to become the person that we came to this life to be.
May you listen to the longing to be you. When your heart speaks, you listen, your walk begins, and you never look back. You are inspired with an enthusiasm that will not let you settle for partial fulfillment. This knowing of your deepest desire fills you with the energy to put one foot in front of the other until you reach the summit of your fulfillment.
I’m walking this path with you. I love you,
